We feel incredibly fortunate to tell people’s stories. We believe wedding photography should be sincere, timeless and artfully composed. We are driven by moments, informed by the light and inspired by connection. Photographs are important, your memories matter and we recognize the way we tell your story is the way it will be presented over time and through generations. Our method of shooting is from the inside out and we do this so when you look back on your images you are not only remembering something that happened but also how it made you feel. Most of our favourite images are up close and personal, candid, honest and highlighting the very best of what it means to be human.
Our Approach: We shoot weddings amidst the action. Cameras can be intimidating enough on their own without us lurking about and sneaking up on people. You’ll find us moving about your wedding through the action and not glued to the outskirts. Interacting with your people and putting them at ease so they are less intimidated by the cameras in our hands. We make it our mission to ensure that you feel comfortable. We want these images to be an accurate representation of who you are and that is why connecting with you and having fun is our priority. While achieving stunning imagery is important, your experience matters too! Our hope is that you look back on your wedding day or couples session with fond memories of a good time. Your only job is to enjoy each other and be present.

Our Why: We love photographing people. We genuinely enjoy getting to know our couples seeing them in their element with each other and at their wedding. We are feelers and find ourselves drawn to emotion and the human experience. The intensity of a wedding can’t be dismissed nor can the subtleties that matter just as much. There are so many emotions, dynamics, elements and details that go into each wedding. It’s why they are so interesting to document and why no two have ever felt the same. The complexity of people and the beauty of a wedding come together and it’s our job to take all of that, all of the fun, the light and the schedule and create art that tells a story. A really important story! We love when our couples tell us how accurately the images portray who they are. To us this is a thrill!
What inspires us? Your connection. The light. The people. The scene. Your wedding can be as simple or as elaborate as you so choose. You can have 300 guests or 10. We are drawn to what makes you tick, who you are together, your style, your people and the way it all comes together on a day that means a whole damn lot. We care about playing with interesting light, showcasing your uniqueness and we will always be playing to create something new - for us and for you.

ON THE JOB
WE ARE MOM and DAD
It would be silly of us to completely skip over this massive part of who we are. We are parents to two really awesome kids. No really, they are the best! They keep us real, present and quite literally on our toes. The way we view wedding photography has broadened a bit because of it. The scope is wider. Danaea started in weddings as a single woman and with each new life stage and acquired role her perspective has shifted. We are able to empathize with you, your friends but also your parents. We can’t imagine what it will be like to watch our own children marry one day (if they so choose) but we have a strong inkling of how it will feel after having witnessed it over and over again. We communicate and multitask under pressure daily and we think and act quick on our feet. We will look out for you and make sure you feel supported. We might even check in to make sure you have snacks water and yes, sunscreen.
