Golden Hour Engagement Session at Crescent Beach

This session with Emily and Mark was seriously so much fun for us. They were easy going, present with each other and gave way to laughter throughout it. We feel the images speak for themselves and instead we are going to address a common question we get - “What time of day should we take our photos?!”

Generally speaking the best time of day to do engagement photos is the two hours before sunset - Golden Hour! The light at this time is softer and has a warm dreamy quality (on a sunny day). It’s also likely that because of weddings we won’t have availability to shoot engagement sessions on a weekend so this lines up well with after work schedules (especially in the Summer!).

Sunrise?! Not for the faint of heart or the night owl but gosh darn it’s nice to shoot in typically busy space without all the people around. Most will be in bed still. So if you’re thinking you want some usually busy city hot spots, we say - “suck it up buttercup and set that alarm!”.
