Whytecliff Park and Squamish Elopement

Rather than sharing from our perspective as photographers why elopements are also a great option when planning your wedding, we asked Lindsey and Ronalds to share their experience from their Whytecliff Park and Squamish elopement.

From Lindsey and Ronald:

“When wedding planning started we had every intention to create something traditional, but as time went on we realized eloping was the right decision for us. This way we would be able to focus all of our energy on each other when celebrating one of the most important days of our lives.

The second we decided to elope we knew two things for certain; it had to be BC and it had to be The Godards’! The west coast has a special place in both our hearts and really makes us feel at home, not to mention the breathtaking views everywhere.

The day itself felt pretty normal until we were nervously getting changed into our outfits in a public washroom at Whytecliff Park, so that we could capture an authentic first look.

I remember feeling completely blissed out by the surroundings and almost in a dreamlike state as rings were exchanged. The whole day was better than either of us could have imagined, even with the presence of a bear and a slight mishap with a makeshift bridge. It was natural and intimate and exactly what we had hoped it would be. Just you and me, in the wild of BC”
